Brownie Batter & Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites

Easy “Healthy” Protein Brownie Bites & Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites 💗😋🍫

YUM! I shared these on my  social media yesterday, but I also love the idea of keeping recipes on my blog- so sharing here too!

Here’s the thing to know about “healthy protein bites” – just because Pinterest or your fav blogger says it’s “healthy” doesn’t mean it actually is…

Recipes like this are free of too much processed sugar or unknown ingredients, but are usually still LOADED with calories and high in fat – mostly due to ingredients like honey, syrup and some form of nut butter. Don’t be discouraged though.. If you love protein bites or if you are looking for a few-ingredient and simple way to curb a sweet tooth while on your healthy journey, these still might just be a perfect fit for you! Just be cautious of your serving sizes, but these are for sure a great alternative to ice cream or your usual refined sugar chocolate fix.

I found them to be REALLY heavy- so one or 2 bites (recommended serving size) would honestly probably do the trick! I also swapped regular peanut butter for a powdered peanut butter, which brought down the fat content of these bites TREMENDOUSLY!

Overall, these are a win in my book and a simple and yummy way to kick a craving and try something new!

Brownie Batter Bites

Okay these take the cake on best protein bites, like ever. SO easy to make, simple to clean up, and the fact that you can freeze them and re-heat in an instant is a major win for me! These were even approved by my toddler, so I’m calling it a mega win and adding this recipe to my favorites!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Banana
  • 8 TBSP Powdered Peanut Butter ( Or 1/2 cup regular peanut butter)
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Scoops Protein Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Agave Syrup
  • 1 TBSP Vanilla

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray mini muffin tin
  • combine ingredients and add water, approximately 5 tbsp if using powdered peanut butter (until smooth consistency is reached)
  • pour mix into each muffin tin
  • Bake 12-15 minutes
  • allow to cool
  • refrigerate or freeze for longer lasting bites
  • *Best if warmed before eating!*

Chocolate Peanut butter bites

Simple  AND yummy snacks can be hard to come by, and if you’re craving all things chocolate you’ll definitely want to give these a try! These are more crumbly than the brownie bites, but I loved the crunchy texture that these had! Again, toddler approved and the great thing is that you really only need 1-2 bites to do the trick!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 8 tbsp powdered peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

  • combine ingredients and add water, approximately 5 tbsp if using powdered peanut butter (untildough isn’t crumbly)
  • Roll out into tablespoon sized balls
  • refrigerate or freeze for longer lasting bites
